The Bangladesh Buddhist Cultural Academy is one of the country’s key tourist destinations. It stands in an area rich in ancient Buddhist civilisation and archaeological treasures that draws a steady flow of visitors from home and abroad.

Renowned archaeologists and scholars of international standing come here to do their research, and encouraging such work is a key role of the Academy. So that researchers can complete their work in a secure environment, and travellers from far away can spend the night undisturbed, a modern guest house with air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms has been built on our premises with funding from the Government of Bangladesh.

You can stay at ease within the security perimeter, which is under police protection. Anyone may stay here with the approval of the authorities and in keeping with statutory regulations, while respecting the sanctity of the vihara, for a nominal charge fixed by the authorities.
