Your help feeds and educates orphaned children, trains young monks and keeps the heritage of Mainamati alive.
The Bangladesh Buddhist Cultural Academy is a non-profit institution. Our work with orphaned children, young monks, visiting scholars and the heritage of Mainamati depends on the generosity of kind-hearted people and organisations, at home and abroad.
The Salban Vihara Orphanage receives part of its funding from the Government of Bangladesh; the rest comes from donors. Our four proposed projects on Plot 2 cannot begin until funds are found.
Ways to help
Stand with the children
120 children, most of them from remote parts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, live and study at the Salban Vihara Orphanage. The government funds part of their care; kind-hearted donors fund the rest.

Acharya Pandit Shilabhadra Hostel
A five-storey hostel for about 100 poor, minority and indigenous students of nearby colleges and universities.

There is no English-medium school near the Academy. We plan one with an international curriculum.

A centre where scholars from home and abroad can research the ancient Buddhist civilisation of Cumilla.
